Dr. Hallacher received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Zoology from the University of California at Berkeley in 1970, his Masters in Marine Biology from San Francisco State University in 1973, and his Ph.D in Zoology from U.C. Berkeley in 1977. After receiving his Ph.D., Dr. Hallacher studied as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Yale University, and taught at San Francisco State University before before accepting a faculty position at the University of Hawaii at Hilo in 1980. He is currently investigating the effects of fishing pressure on inshore Hawaiian reef fish populations and, with a colleague, is evaluating the effect of nonconsumptive reef utilization like diving and snorkeling on Hawaiian coral reefs. His studies have resulted in numerous publications in scientific journals. You can contact Dr. Hallacher at: Ph: 808-974-7364 |
