CORALS OF PALMYRA ATOLL

Below is a view of the reef crest on the windward side of Palmyra.  Corals and pink coralline algae were exposed on an extremely low tide.

There are about 125 species of hard corals known from Palmyra Atoll, and other coral species waiting to be discovered.
