VEGETATION OF PALMYRA ATOLL

The vegetation of Palmyra Atoll includes coconut palm trees, ferns, pandanus, and one of the last remaining Pisonia forests and many other native and introduced plant species. 

Land hermit crabs find shade under naupaka (Scaevola) bushes.

Giant Pisonia tree trunks provide habitat for terrestrial organisms.
